Caplex turns 20

In 2006 we walked our first worker into a shop floor near Oldenburg. Twenty years on, that is still the job.

Twenty years is a long run in this trade. Agencies come and go, the shop floors stay. We started in Oldenburg in 2006 and still do the same thing: bring people who want to work in Germany to the plants that need hands.

What changed is the road there. It used to be a phone and a folder of applications; now most people write in a messenger first — in Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian or German, usually in the evening after a shift. What follows has not changed: a colleague calls, sorts out the paperwork and drives to the plant with them.

The thing twenty years taught us never makes it into a contract: for someone who has just arrived, a job without a room is not a job. That is why housing at €390 a month and the transfer at €5 per working day are part of the placement here, not an add-on.

Today we place people at plants building trailers and postal vehicles, at a confectionery line in Haselünne, in a frozen warehouse and in agricultural machinery. Welding, powder coating, grinding, production, order picking — the work that keeps German industry running.
